We start your journey of self-development with a pre-course assignment, asking you to critically reflect on your current understanding of Ethics & Ethical theory, Ethical Leadership, and leadership styles, articulating how you currently apply these areas on a day-to-day basis personally, and in your organisation. We then delve into the normative theories of ethics and the different ethical theories that exist with a reading based on a real-life scenario to give you an understanding and practical overview of the consequentialist and non-consequentialist theories of ethics, importantly, we get you to start thinking about what particular theory or combination of theories you could adopt or intertwine into your own DNA, values, and self-identity. The module finishes with another self-reflection exercise on how your understanding of ethics and ethical theory has changed since the reading and what you would do differently and now embed or intertwine into your values and DNA to transform your ethical beliefs and thus influence organisational culture. On successful completion of this module, you will be awarded 30 hours CPD. Module 1 overview and assessment requirements (Assignment questions and readings will be sent by email to you upon payment of the course fees) • Part A: Pre course Self-reflection exercise • Part B: Reading from Tony Beaven’s paper on Understanding and applying the foundations of Ethical Theory • Part C: Assignment to be submitted within 4 weeks with a pass mark of 65%, 2000 words maximum, incorporating the self reflection exercise and assignment questions from part B.
